Bakugan Battle Brawlers is a collectible toy and card game based on the Japanese anime tv film of Bakugan. This is one of the best-sellers this holiday time, and has lots more room for growth.

At first glance, the rules might seem a touch complicated, however they are easily understood after a few rounds. Primarily, players sit down opposite one another and place Bakugan Gate Cards on the battle board. Then each player, in flip, rolls their Bakugan onto the board. If the Bakugan rolls over a gate card it opens automatically and is prepared for battle.

Players have three Bakugan Battle Brawlers, three Gate Cards and three Ability Cards each. Advanced players may also add one trap to make for even more thrilling play. Each Brawler encompasses a point value. Gate cards increase that value depending on the kind of Bakugan that's on that card.

Battle begins when two Battle Brawlers have landed on the same Gate Card. The whole scores of the Brawler, Gate and Ability Cards are added up together. Any text on the cards will take priority over the usual rules. When the battle is completed, the winner retains the Gate Card and then the Brawlers are put into the used pile. The first player to get 3 cards is victorious in the game.

There are over a hundred Bakugan Battle Brawlers available, as well as lots of completely different Gate and Ability Cards, and Traps. This means that there is constant variation during play, not to mention the variation due to the skill needed to land your Bakugan on top of a Gate Card.

Get ready to do battle this holiday season. It's wonderful to find a game that truly gets children enjoying playing with each other on a face to face basis and not just over a monitor. Also Bakugan Battle Brawlers makes a great hobby that will keep youngsters actively having lots of fun.
